I have a couple friends who are doing the "Take Shape for Life" program - she said in 3 days she was down 5 pounds. I don't think it's healthy - and I think it's one of those programs where you have to eat THEIR food. Which doesn't make sense, because are they going to continue to eat that food for the rest of their lives? Probably not! WW is the best way to go.
It's totally true. If it's a new start, it makes sense to lose weight fast because it's water weight. But really, eating their food? No, thanks. I'll stick with WW because I LEARN how to do it myself. That way I won't end up back on their program paying to eat their food again and again. I hope to stay at my goal weight or close to it once I get there.
Also, the lap band. Hate it. It's still possible to gain weight with it. I think people getting it should have to have mandatory 6 months of eating right before so they have more success once they get it. Also, they should have to have proof that they've tried losing weight by eating healthy. People who've tried losing and failed, go for it. People who use it as a shortcut to avoid the process should not be allowed to get it.
Are these friends really overweight? If they are, that could be possible at the beginning. I lost 5.6lbs my first week back on WW this time.

I agree with everything you just said.
ReplyDeleteThey are a couple - and the guy is pretty overweight. He's lost 12 pounds in the 1st week. The girl, I wouldn't say is much bigger than me.
